Mexican Food in Carmel Valley, San Diego

El Pueblo Carmel Valley is our San Diego proper location — tucked into the Village Walk shops at 5965 Village Way, minutes from Pacific Highlands Ranch, Del Mar Heights, and the 56. It's where North County meets the city: a neighborhood restaurant with a full bar, a heated patio, and a menu that runs from early breakfast through late-night dinner every day of the year.

Family-owned, this is the location locals call their go-to. The kitchen is open from 6am to midnight, seven days a week. Breakfast burritos at sunrise. Lunch plates at noon. Margaritas on the patio by 5. Tequila flights at 10pm. The rhythm of Carmel Valley, one table at a time.

Full Bar, Heated Patio, and Private Events

Our Carmel Valley bar is stocked with premium tequila, mezcal, and the house margaritas that have become a neighborhood fixture — silver, gold, spicy, skinny, by the glass or the pitcher. We pour tequila flights (blanco, reposado, añejo side-by-side) and we have a short mezcal list for the curious. Our bartenders know the menu cold, so tell them what you want and they'll match it.

The heated patio is the reason people book birthdays, bridal showers, team dinners, and end-of-season parties with us. It's open year-round — heat lamps in winter, shade and ocean breeze the rest of the year. Private events start at 8 guests; we build the catering menu around your group size.

Fish Tacos, Margaritas, and the Full El Pueblo Menu

Carmel Valley serves the full El Pueblo menu — our signature $1.29 fish tacos (fried-to-order, chipotle sauce, cabbage, pico, no limit), breakfast burritos, carne asada plates, enchiladas, chile rellenos, fajitas, quesadillas, and tortas. Pair any of it with a house margarita, a cold Pacifico, or a mezcal pour; our Carmel Valley regulars lean hard on the spicy margarita.
